Shopping!!

First day of Christmas holidays spent Christmas shopping and decorating the house, on the plus side I got rock candy and cute high-heel shoes for the 21st!!!!!

13th December

11 Days 'til Christmas! I'm very excited and just finished making gift food boxes for my friends containing: Anzac Biscuits (which I baked), Peppermint Creams (which I made) and Chocolate Fudge (which I also made)... Can't wait til I give them to them tomorrow!!!

Mmm...

After watching some Saturday morning cooking programmes, I'm in the mood to make some sweet treats...

Twilight?

Don't you hate it when people call all the films in the Twilight Saga 'Twilight'. I'm saying this because today my friend and I watched Breaking Dawn P1, as it's recently come out, and someone's status said "Had fun watching Twilight"- no it isn't!! It's Breaking Dawn!!

Racist Taxi Driver Theory

In Science today I was explaining a question to people around me which involved Active Transport, and I explained Active transport as the cell being a really racist taxi driver in his taxi, who only let on certain sugars, like glucose, but others not. Also, my friend thought that a great pun was that the taxi driver would greet his passengers with "Hello sugar".

Unappreciated...

At School our class had some French tests, just to see if we're doing well, and I got 27/27 for my French listening test, and 2 points beneath getting an A* in the Speaking, the area at French I am the least skilled at. When I told my Mum the good news her reply was "Oh, very good..." calmly. Oh how unappreciated I feel...

International Assembly

The International assembly I was preparing with my friend for is tomorrow- the teacher was so happy when she saw how much work we'd put into it, there was absolutely nothing she had to add or change. Wish me luck!

Chemistry Camp!

I bet your first reactions to that title was raised eyebrows and "Really?", but don't worry, it's not as sad as it sounds... Chemistry camp is where, every year, where students can stay at a university, in the accommodation they provide, and work in their labs, whilst integrating with other students. 4 students maximum are allowed from every school, and it's Year 10 students. Because there are about 10 students interested (only Triple Science class can go on it) in our class, including myself (obviously) there will be application forms given out on Nov 28th, and the students with the best applications will be chosen. The chosen ones can go apply to any University that is taking part, even Cambridge takes part however is over applied for. Wish me luck!

Happy Halloween!

I don't celebrate Halloween much; we sometimes have a pumpkin and attempt at dressing up scarily but to be honest, I haven't done it in a few years and I can't be bothered. The highlight of today is watching the Halloween special of Agatha Christie's Poirot, and I am ashamed to say that everyone I asked today at my school had never heard of Agatha Christie's Poirot... The horror!!!

Rest...

Just finished 9 hours of Homework and Revision, only stopping for eating and excreting. Time for a hot shower and lay in bed with a hot chocolate and watch something on my laptop... Any suggestions?

Merlin S4E5

Just watched Merlin Series 4 Episode 5, it was great! (All about how King Arthur goes and kills a bad King so he is respected, but ends up in a war, then he battles their warrior who is massive, and Morgana enchants his sword so it is heavy and Merlin makes the warrior drop things with magic so he can't kill Arthur, and Arthur and the Queen have a truce because Arthur won the fight but didn't kill the warrior and the Queen tells Morgana she is bitter and a lot like Luther so Morgana is angry and stomps off. Credits). Can't wait til next week's episode!

Work, work, and... more work.

Just finished doing a whole assembly on a Germany Comenius Project Trip with my friend, a whole lot of work off my shoulders. 8 pieces of homework and plenty of revision... here I come!

Sicily Trip

Just came back from a trip to Sicily; went to Alcantara Gorge (or George as one girl mispronounced it), Mount Etna (boy was it freezing up there!), Panarea (holiday destination for the wealthy), Stromboli (what's cooler than black sand?!) and Taormina (talk about high-brow). Whilst we were there, we were lucky enough to see Mount Etna erupt at night on our boat journey back to the mainland, it was so, so far away and yet we could see it so clearly- it looked like the eruptions you see on TV; a hot, orange glow in the distance at the top of a massive (and I mean massive) mound of earth. I had a great trip and there is no way I'm never going there again!
